I’m insane.

I’m insane. Or at least, that’s what my family and friends think. Because I want a 1967 mustang fastback. It’s been my dream car since i was like 7. And now I’ve figured out just how I’m going to get it. I’m going to start selling my art, obviously it’s all gonna need some improvement, which is why I’m going to start it out cheap, and as I improve over the next few years gradually charge more and save every penny of it until I reach 35 grand. Thats the average for a fully restored ‘67, and I am hoping I won’t have to spend that much, but I’m willing to, for that car. However, right now, that gives me plenty of motivation to draw. And my best friend has hammered into my head that what I percieve as faults someone might like, so I’m posting pics of probably 90 percent of everything and selling maybe 80 percent. We’ll see. But I should have a finished drawing up tomorrow or the next morning.

Again with the apologetic text posts, I dont like having to do this, but I felt the need to inform you that I am having some artistic difficulties lately, each drawing I do, I somehow end up completely screwing up. So far, the count is 5 or 6 this week, 2 today, I am hoping tomorrow will be a new day and I can work past this serious problem…

Sorry I haven’t been posting lately, my extended family just moved in with us and things have been absolutely chaotic. But I’ve been thinking on art projects I want to get done and I really want to do an owl, but I cant decide if I should do pen and ink or oil pastel. Both are mediums I’m pretty unfamiliar with and both need some serious working on. Thoughts on this idea?

Just finished up with some nude studies. I just used photos off the internet since i can never seem to find nude models, perhaps i should go to france:). These are in charcoal on a light tannish colored paper, so i could use white for highlights to test it out see how well it works since ive never used white charcoal before. Something that i didnt notice when i was actually doing the drawings is that as i progressed through them, it went from just a torso to a torso arm and head to full bodies. Didnt intend for that but its cool nonetheless.

Alright, last picture for today, this is the rose drawing i was working on that i totally screwed up. Its all done with a crow quill and india ink and that black mark thats on the top middle petal is where the ink splattered and i (half asleep) attempted to turn make it look like a ripped petal with a shadow. In my opinion, an epic failure, but i may still try and finish the drawing, just havent decided yet. And i think, simply because im proud of this feat, i should add in that i didn’t do a pencil sketch before inking it in, i just started with the pen. Looks pretty damn good for no pencil sketch first:)

Here is a drawing i did a while back, all in pencil, and keep in mind that was only like, the third rose i have ever drawn, at that point in time, so its not the best, but its alright. And it was the first time drawing a gun and a skull, how i had gotten by until that point not having drawn those ill never know. Please keep in mind, all of my work is completely free handed. I don’t trace anythin, ever.

This is the drawing that kicked off my year, i did it in december and gave it to my best friend as a birthday present. Shes got a thing for snow leopards:). It was all in pencil, except for touches of colored pencil in the eyes, nose, and a couple of the shadows to soften it up a little. Plase excuse the crappy photo, i really am not the best photographer:/.

This is just something that i drew to occupy my mind until i fell asleep. It was at like, 2 in the morning, and done with charcoal. Mind you, this was just when i started using charcoal.

I absolutely hate it when I spend a large amount of time on something, only to screw it all up with one little mistake. Most recent example, I was drawing a rose using a dip pen and India ink and I was half way done with the shading, and damn was it perfect, every fine little detail was there and right, and then it got to be really late at night, and I was getting tired and I loaded just a little too much ink onto my pen and it dripped, right on the rose petal I was working on, completely screwing over the whole drawing. I tried to fix it make it look like there was a tear in the petal and a shadow behind it to explain the dark ink where it shouldn’t be, but like I said, I was tired and it didn’t work out too well. Definentely not as good as if something like that were planned… Not sure if I actually want to finish the drawing now. I’ll keep trying to upload pictures.

Favorite Bands

You know, when someone asks me my favorite band, I am always at loss for an answer, simply because I love so many. I’ll just list a few here: Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, Three Days Grace, Ozzy Osbourne/ Black Sabbath, Pantera, Motley Crue, Staind, Alice in Chains, Van Halen, Metallica, Rob Zombie/ White Zombie, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and I’m going to stop there for now. I said I’d list just a few, I lied:) That’s quite a bit more than “just a few”…
